Summary
Responsible for grinding, sanding, and polishing objects made out of metal, This position will require the use of hand held power tools to ensure a smooth surface. Inspects for flaws or cracks or blemishes will be needed as will a great eye for detail. In addition this person will be cross trained on multiple types of machinery within the facility.
Primary responsibilities
Grind, sand, and polish metal objects.
Correct defects.
Prepare surface for further finishing.
Safely and accurately grind metal to meet the specifications of the product
Polish and grind materials according to specifications.
Select files according to materials and shape of work pieces.
Interpret blueprints and instructions.
Test workpieces in working machinery.
Trim and scrape objects.
Clean equipment and work tables.
Record product data.
Maintain or repair equipment.
Sharpen abrasive grinding tools.
Apply solutions or chemicals to surfaces.
Grind products such as door frames and other pieces of fabricated metal.
Follow guidelines and templates.
Pay:
$10.00 an hourEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
